Day 10: Stitch ‘n Bitch (1st Saturday/4th Wednesday every month!)

The fourth Wednesday of May was spent at Cool Hand Luc’s engaging in the crafting therapy known as Stitch ‘n Bitch at Cool Hand Luc’s. I have attended every Stitch ‘n Bitch since it’s creation in January, and every meeting is a learning experience for me. Every meeting is lead by a guest hobbyist or the Stitch ‘n Bitch group leader, A. McDaniel.

The meetings tend to have waves of chatter and instruction, and occasional outbursts of profanity with pricked fingers or rants. New people sometimes stop in and learn a craft, but so far the group has been held down with 4 or 5 main members. The cost is $0-5, depending on what you can donate. The location is great because it’s pretty central for Fort Myers Stitchers, and Cool Hand Luc’s provides delicious food and coffee.

Though it was recently registered as a national Stitch ‘n Bitch group, it will still carry the same casual and fun atmosphere as always. If you have ideas for crafts to lead at a Stitch ‘n Bitch, contact A. McDaniel and join the group on Facebook!
