Tubby’s is a local gay bar promoting diversity in the 239 gay community and welcomes everyone regardless of gender or sexuality. Their drink specials vary nightly, but the prices are fair and the bartenders are friendly. Becoming the home base of the new queer showcase, Hen House Entertainment, was the next step to bring in a greater variety of business and embracing the emerging scene.
This past Saturday, Hen House Entertainment filled Tubby’s to capacity last night at the “Pick Your Poison!” Drag and Burlesque Showcase. The show featured performances from male impersonators (including yours truly, “King William”) and Vaudeville-variety strip teasers. At times hilarious or seductive, the troupe kept the energy high and the crowd aroused.
