All proceeds of this event will go directly to an organization that helps children. The major beneficiaries of the 2015 C4C event will be Blessings in a Backpack: Lee County Chapter & Hope Kids Care.

Blessings in A Backpack Lee County – All funds raised by Blessings in a Backpack of Lee County STAY in the county In Southwest Florida, Blessings in a Backpack started at Tice Elementary where 98% of students rely on Federal Food Assistance programs. This chapter was started in 2009 with the help of Blessings in a Backpack National, former spokesperson Hillary Duff and Fort Myers Residence. The Lee County Chapter does not have paid staff; all of their work is done through a volunteer board.Blessings in a Backpack of Lee County has now doubled in size by adding Edgewood Academy and are currently feeding 1,000 students right in Southwest Florida.

Hope Kids Care – Hope Kids Care programs help our local children when they are facing serious health care challenges and issues related to grief. Pediatric Hospice Care gives our young ones, and their parents and siblings, the special care, comfort and guidance needed when facing the end-of-life. Our pediatric team provides care in the family’s home, or when necessary, in one of Hope’s Hospice Houses. Partners in Care: Together for Kids helps chronically ill children with pain and symptoms from their disease, and provides a creative outlet for emotions and fear through art and music therapies. Counselors also help families arrange for transportation and food assistance, when necessary. Rainbow Trails Camp helps grieving children cope with the loss of a loved one. The camp is open to the community and provides a therapeutic, and fun, weekend with specialized counselors, at no cost for the child.
